Unfortunately Chaucer did not finish The Cook's Tale, but what we have sounds rather promising:
Perkin, an apprentice cook, is into drinking, gambling and running after girls and neglects his duties. This is why his master finally dismisses him. At once Perkin joins an old friend and moves to his house. The friend's wife keeps a shop, but in reality she earns her living as a prostitute ...
Like the Miller's and the Reeve's Tale the Cook's story shows certain elements which are traditionally associated with the fabliau.
