Perle plesaunte, to prynces paye
To clanly clos in golde so clere:
Oute of oryent, I hardyly saye,
Ne proued I neuer her precios pere.
So rounde, so reken in vche araye,
So smal, so smoşe her sydez were;
Queresoeuer I jugged gemmez gaye
I sette hyr sengeley in singlure.
Allas! I leste hyr in on erbere;

Cleanness

Clannesse whoso kyndly cowşe comende,
And rekken vp alle resounz şat ho by riht askez,
Fayre formez myht he fynde in forşering his speche,

Patience

Pacience is a poynt, şah hit displese ofte.
When heuy herttes ben hurt wyth heşyng oşer elles,
Suffraunce may aswagen hem and şe swelme leşe,
For ho quelles vche a qued and quenches malyce;
For quoso suffer cowşe syt, sele wolde folge,
And qho for şro may noşat sişen depreced prouinces,
and patrounes bicomet şole, şe şikker he sufferes.
